Spectrum Activity
Though very similar to the "vote with your feet" activity, this strategy works best in situations where issues have a more complex range of positions or beliefs. This is typically shown with a statement where students show their position along a spectrum between strongly agree and strongly disagree.
To use this strategy, give students a statement and instruct them to respond by arranging themselves along a continuum based up how much they agree with the question at hand. Calling on a few students to justify their positioning is a great way to check for understanding in the midst of this activity.
