Grafitti
A graffiti is a brainstorming group activity which works well as either a topic preview or review activity.
To set up a graffiti activity, the class should be broken into medium to small size groups (five or less is ideal). A particular topic or concept should be written in the center of chart paper. Students should then think about the topic and write down everything they can think of regarding it on the chart paper. This is designed to be an 'idea splatter' so the level of detail will vary from student to student.
This activity can be modified in several different ways. After putting ideas down on their own sheet, students could be rotated around the classroom to other students papers to add their own thoughts there if they feel there are key things missing. Another modification involves providing different topics per group instead of the same one, and having students rotate through each topic and add their own thoughts to each one. Both of these modifications will depend on the type of discussion you would like to occur, as well the material/concepts you would like to cover.
